In this guide, we will highlight the top 5 best exercise bikes in 2024 to help you make an informed decision.
Which Exercise Bikes Should You Buy?
When choosing an exercise bike, there are several factors to consider to determine which one is right for you.
First, consider what type of exercise bike you prefer. There are three main types: upright bikes, recumbent bikes, and indoor cycling bikes. Upright bikes resemble traditional bicycles and require the rider to sit upright while pedaling. Recumbent bikes have a more laid-back seating position with a backrest for added comfort. Indoor cycling bikes, also known as spin bikes, are designed to closely mimic the experience of outdoor cycling with adjustable resistance levels.
Next, think about the features you want in an exercise bike. Some bikes come with built-in workout programs, heart rate monitors, and adjustable seat and handlebar positions. Others may have Bluetooth connectivity, allowing you to sync your workouts with fitness apps or track your progress over time.
Consider your budget as well. Exercise bikes can range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand, depending on the brand, features, and quality. It’s important to find a balance between cost and quality that fits within your budget.
By carefully considering these factors, you can find the exercise bike that best meets your needs and helps you achieve your fitness goals.

Smooth Ride. In summary, this is an excellent exercise bike with all the bells and whistles. A great addition to my home gym. After trying Schwinn 270 recumbent bike at my local sporting goods store (Dick's Sporting Goods) and liking it a lot, I was contemplating between the 270 and the 230. Basically there are three main differences: (1) The 270 has 25 levels of resistance versus 20 levels for the 230. (2) The seat has cushion on the 270 while the 230 has a plastic seat with holes for airflow. (3) The 270 could have up to 4 saved profiles and the 230 could have 2. Number of profiles on the 270 might be a good feature for folks who would share the bike with more than 2 people but I was only sharing with my wife so it wasn't a big deal for me. And since the 230 is a new model (2016 vs. 2013), I decided to go with the 230 and I couldn't be happier. Before I talk about pros and cons, I just wanted to talk just a little bit about myself so you get a better perspective. I'm 5'9'', male, 160 lbs, in my 30s, in a relatively good shape but nothing close to a triathlon athlete or body builder. I'm just a casual rider who puts in about 30-45 minutes, 2-3 times a week.Pros:- The bike has a very smooth ride on all resistances. No squick, no thump, just a smooth sound of a well-oil machine probably very close to those heavy duty commercial grade exercise bikes you see at the gym.- Slider seat is so easy to adjust. I know for this price range, this is a requirement especially when two of us are sharing this bike adjusting back and forth.- Sturdy! Of course as I described above I'm not testing this bike to it max limits since I'm just an average guy with average use but so far, nothing is shaking and nothing is loose.- Low impact on your knees and joints but you could probably say the same on all bikes and elliptical machines.- Programs. Many programs to choose from. Some are fun while others I'm never going back to but that's just based on my personal preference.- Two LCD monitors. This allows me to put my iPad on top while I keep track of my workout on the bottom LCD.- Great, knowledgeable and friendly customer service. Registering product and basic troubleshooting were easy.- Assembly wasn't a rocket science. It seems all the parts that you think could be assembled in the factory, they assembled in the factory so good job Schwinn. But that doesn't mean I only spent 3 minutes putting this bike together like putting a hot pocket in a microwave. Think of the assembly process as preparing a delicious food using a slow cooker. It takes time but not difficult if you know what I mean 😉 So I would say 1-2 hours depending on your skills.Cons:- 2 Profiles. Now this is not a con for me since I'm only sharing this bike with my wife but if you have 3 or more people sharing and want to save your workout results and progress, you can't do it with this bike. The 270 allows 4 profiles just as an FYI.- The front panel / LCD dashboard does not look like the one shown on the Amazon page. Please refer to my picture. It is less shiny and you will notice the logo on top is not red in real life. Also the buttons are the same color as the panel but when you look at the picture on Amazon it is darker and shinier. This is definitely not a deal breaker and maybe I'm just being picky but I just wanted to note.- Plastic seat and back. I personally haven't had any discomfort riding on a plastic seat but I could see that this may be slightly uncomfortable if you ride more frequently. Again, this is an exercise bike not a La-Z-Boy recliner so I expect less comfort from this bike. But then again, I could see that this could potentially be an issue.Another note - I also purchased Supermats Heavy Duty P.V.C. Mat for Treadmills/Ski Machine (2.5-Feet x 6-Feet) to go with this bike in case you are wondering. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004IJI7HW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Good for the price point. I have a home gym (treadmill, Tonal) and have wanted to add a recumbent bike for a long time. I have neck problems and the upright style bikes put too much strain on it so the recumbent style is ideal. Because the bike was going to be a minor part of my workouts (I only wanted it for days where I wanted a lighter workout) I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I knew it would never become my main exercise equipment. This bike was in the price range I wanted to spend and it had the most features for the money. Plus, the Schwinn brand was a selling point for me. The bike was super easy to assemble and I was able to do it myself in 15-20 minutes. It has basic features you'd expect like preprogrammed workouts. The workouts don't really range much in intensity in my opinion but you can always modify them once you're using them. You can also use manual settings to make your own workout (you can't save it for future use, but I wouldn't expect that option in this price level). The bike isn't very loud (it's not silent either) so you can easily watch tv or listen to music. There is one part on the bike that isn't secured on and I have repeatedly knocked it off. It's a cover that is just under the seat. It is purely for aesthetics, it doesn't serve a function, but it's not secured on in any way, it just fits on the spot but I've knocked it off repeatedly so I'll probably just glue it down. The oddest thing to me is the power cord. It's thinner than even a lamp cord and is more like something you'd use for a small electronic device (two prong plug, not the usual three prong). I mean, it powers the bike so that's all that's needed but it feels flimsy. You wouldn't want to plug it in anywhere that it could be bumped. As far as size, the bike seat distance is fairly adjustable and I'm quite comfortable when sitting (I'm 5'9") and can reach and use the pedals just fine. The bike is very stable. I have it on a fitness mat over carpet in my gym. It stays quite steady while using it. The construction of the bike feels like it would be more unsteady, but it's not. Good bike for the price. Let's be clear, this is NOT Peloton quality by any means but it's a very good bike for the price point.
Construcción robusta, fácil de armar.Buena decisión, después de investigar varias marcas en web pages de USA,La uso 4-5 días a la semana, (70+)
Producto de muy buena calidad, cumplió mis expectativas.
Quiet, easy to assemble, not a monster in size and all the functions I need. I am not a cyclist but needed a good fitness program for my out of shape body and I am also 65 and my knees are not good for walking or treadmills. I am so pleased. Its also well made. Thank you Schwinn.
Me encanta. Llego rapido y es de muy buena calidad. Me encabta en verdad. Recomendado
The bike is good for this level of purchase. It isn’t the most expensive bike however it isn’t cheap. It is is well made and can easily support 300 lbs.the instructions to put it together was good however the diagrams do not show the proper assembly, placing the seat in the wrong position. Make sure you look forward to the next step to see how to put it together correctly. Be careful not to pinch the wires , which the documents state. Other than the above it took about 45 min to put it together. The heart rate monitor doesn’t work correctly all of the time and is not to be counted on for proper data. The seat is able to be adjusted and both I (6 ft 2in) and my wife (5 ft 4) can find the proper position for use.One of the factors for me buying it is that it is bluetoothed and seem to work with all sorts of apps. If this is the reason you are thinking of buying it please move on. The bluetooth doesn’t have enough power to charge my phone and will only connect to the “explore the world app” which will transfer data to “my fitness pal” . It will not work with Zwift app, nor any other 3rd party app that I can see. I wrote the company about this and they were less than helpful is telling me what worked. I would have liked an app that could control the level setting rather than just show you a video as you go. This sucks as their app seem to apply it is good for other apps. Bluetooth does not show up as a discovery point on my apple or any other device I own.As for the built in settings , and the ease of use, it is good which lots of selections. It is easy to change the resistance on the fly and the different levels is enough for most people. You can set goals by time, distance and calories easy and the goals will track. You are able to download this data to an UBS but I haven’t done this and their is no direction as to what app would even read it.So far I’ve put 1500 km on it with no issues. The seat is comfortable and the petals fit well with use.Overall , I like the bike but was looking for one that would have have better apps for making it seem more interactive , rather than just sitting in a room cracking out the km.

Easy to assemble, quiet, seems well made. I noticed reviews that said it was hard to assemble. It's not. If you can change your car's oil this will be a breeze. I bought the cheapest one and it is very quiet. I can't speak to the magnetic one, but this is better than fine. If noise is the only reason you might go with a more expensive one, save yourself the money. The quality seems good. I can't say I've tried a lot of them, but nothing feels cheap or like it will come loose. You might consider upgrading the seat to something more comfortable, but that's a common upgrade on most non-stationary bikes. And its a typical seat mount, making it easy to mount any seat. Resistance is adjusted with a knob connected to a pad. Unlike the magnetic versions, the pad will wear down. This could take years of regular use. And I'm sure you can buy new pads, universal if not specific to the model. I could not have asked for more from this bike. It was very good value for the price.
Easy to assemble, fun to use. I live in New England and needed a way to get some exercise when the weather is cold and blustery. I chose the Yosuda Magnetic Plus stationary bike based on its small footprint, quiet ride, and affordable price point. I've had it about 10 days and love it! While Yosuda's assembly video shows the guy giving each bolt a couple of cursory turns, ignore that... turn the bolts/screws as tight as you can. The bike feels sturdy and the ride is smooth. The only issue I've encountered: I find the seat uncomfortable. Not sure if it's the seat itself, or because I'm "big boned." So, I put a Zacro seat (about $30) on this Yosuda bike and it's much more comfortable.Even having replaced the seat, I do love this Yosuda stationary bike and am so glad I ordered it.
Great piece of equipment for the price. Great value. The bike was not too difficult for one person to assemble and the step by step video made it even easier to figure out. It is quiet and sturdy and includes a nice feature to attach an iPad or cell phone just under the display pad.The only reason I gave this four stars is because it would be nice to have an app to connect to my fitness device so I can see my heart rate and other vitals while I’m working out. Also, the lowest resistance setting still seems to be a bit tougher than expected, but that’s minor.I highly recommend this exercise bike for those who, like me, have a small space, small budget, and still need a good indoor workout.
Wow…so quiet & very sturdy. The criteria for me when purchasing a spin bike was that it not be noisy, that it be sturdy/heavy enough for me to do intense spin classes with movements that are both in and out of the saddle and that it be cost effective. This bike, so far, after about a month now of using it 3 - 4 times a week is everything that I wanted! The bike is so very quiet with magnet resistance as opposed to being friction based resistance - there is no waking anyone else in the house up when I work out insanely early in the morning! And I can be up in second position jogging, doing tap backs, forward pushups and be in and out if the saddle & the bike is very sturdy with no tipping. I feel safe. Although I wish it were less expensive than the $379 that I paid for it, in comparison to other much more expensive models, I feel like I lucked out with a really good overall value. I like that I have the option of using my iPad or iPhone on the holder and that it has a water bottle holder, although the holder is a little flimsy so I might replace it, but it’s not an immediate need. One more thing that could be added to make it better is a holder for hand weights as right now I have them stored on the floor matt next the bike & have to remember to put them up on a chair next to the bike or I have to stop the ride and get off the bike to get the weights. Since I am also a road cyclist, I change the pedals for my clip shoes, I just like the ride much better than the cage pedals. A place for the tv remote would be good too, although my engineer boyfriend came up with the idea to Velcro the remote on to the bike for me as I like to get free classes on YouTube I don’t use the data screen much as I get a lot of data from my Apple Watch, but I do like that it’s there and that it will scroll through the data if I want it too. This was also very easy to assemble. I really like that there are so many places/positions for me to put my hands. Very happy so far!
Great first impression. I got the YOSUDA Indoor Cycling Bike (magnetic plus) today and it was very easy to assemble. They have a video on their Amazon Product description that’s easy to understand and simple to follow. It took 10 min to set up. The Kinomap cycling app connected to the bike’s bluetooth immediately. Also connecting the app to my fire tv was a breeze and worked immediately.I’m 5‘10 and the bike fits me perfectly. The workshop appears solid and the design is well thought out and functional.I bought a 2 year warranty from Amazon along with it due to some reviews complaining about broken parts, but my first impression of the bike’s quality is, I’m probably not going to need that warranty.Really great first impression!
Overall, the YOSUDA Indoor Cycling Bike Brake Pad/Magnetic Stationary Bike offers a convenient and comfortable cycling experience for users. Comfortable Quiet Bike. I`m very Happy I found this very cool Pooboo bike .I tossed out my old bike because it was uncomfortable not as smooth to pedal .The Seat on this bike has so much cushion . most difficult part is getting it out the box . easy to put together . I watched instructions on You Tube. i love that it does not take up a lot of space .it is sturdy and the pedals are a wide but you adjust . the price is great it comes in a color i love .customer service is Fantastic help with questions about other features you can add. personally i don`t feel an exercise bike without a motor should cost a lot . it does not wobble when going very fast ..or leaning to the front . actually a work friend is gonna buy the yellow, So Yes I recommend it !!
Impressive bike for the price. I’m a 67 year old female, 5’ 3” and average weight. This bike has exceeded my expectations, especially for the price. I was able to put it together on my own (TIP: use masking tape temporarily to hold bolts in place while you’re fastening nuts). That took a couple hours. The instructions were easy to follow. It came very well packaged and was undamaged. The bike itself is well made, sturdy, and I was able to customize the seating to my body size. It’s incredibly quiet and comfortable to use. The seat cushion is better than I expected, although it’s one of those narrower seats. I opted to leave off the water bottle holder so I could easy get up on the bike. All in all a great purchase. I’ll be using this daily to improve my health..
Yay. I wanted to have a few months and a little bit of experience with my bike before I wrote this, so here's what I've learned: To start, everything I write is a little tainted because I'm really excited to have finally been able to get an exercise bike, so just know that first. Now:*I love it. Love, love, love it!*Ridiculously easy to put together.*Fits into an impressively small space.*It would be nice if the resistance knob had some sort of measurement or even just an incremental marking to know where you left off.*The seat is soft but firm, but honestly, after 15 minutes, hurts my backside so much, that it still hurts the next day if I keep going longer than that.*I am 5'5.5" and pretty proportionally average in every other way. The seat is so high that for me, when I put it on the lowest adjustment peg, I literally had to have a short box to climb onto it. I rectified that by not using the adjustment pegs and just "setting" the seat post into it's place. That let me get rid of the box that I was using as a stepping stool, but I still have to be rather cautious climbing onto the bike. (The middle of the bike, [I don't know what it's called but it connects the front wheel to the back wheel] is about half an inch higher than my knee, so I really have to lift my leg high to get it over. In doing so, I (don't laugh), have on occasion, have lost my balance and tipped over in the opposite direction. Once standing over the bike, I have to "hop" up to the seat.*Likely due to the seat issues (being both high and uncomfortable), I try to adjust the way I'm seated, so I put my hands on the handle bars instead of just sitting upright and peddling. It is a tad far away. I've fixed this by raising the handlebars as far up as I could, which has helped, but I'm still rather awkwardly reaching to it. I wish that is was either closer by an inch, or that the post with peg holes on the handlebar was higher, so I could raise it one or two pegs more.*It is quiet. After two months, a "Shshshshsh" scratching/scraping sound formed with each rotation of the wheel, but it's not obnoxious or loud or anything. Recently, a "tick-tick-tick" sound has formed with each rotation of the right pedal, I haven't figured that out yet.*The only other thing of note is the bolts that connect the body of the boke to the cross bars on the floor that make it stable. I would guess that for ease of assembly, they made them go from the bottom, up. Unfortunately, the result is that cosmetically, it looks dumb, but more importantly, it is a nasty thing to kick when barefoot or sleepy. I tried to flip the bolt so that the smooth side would be on top; it's absolutely doable as far as the length of the bolt and the space from the floor, and doable as far as ability to maneuver the parts during assembly. Unfortunately, only the hole at the bottom of the base is cut out to fit a square base, the top hole is not. So if you flip the bolts, the base isn't secure (and rattles). **Note to the manufacturer, please flip the bolt. Thank you. Anyway, I am so happy to have this, I don't greatly care about the bitty stuff that I've written. The bike is very stable both while getting on and off, and while riding (which was my biggest concern). It doesn't make a ton of noise. It fits into a very small space, and I'm grateful to have it.
The Best Indoor Bike I've Ever Purchased. First of all, I'd like to address the packaging issue in the one-star review. Delivery: My bike arrived in absolutely perfect condition inside and out. I was extremely impressed with how well this bike was packaged and protected. There wasn't one scratch or damaged part/area. My guess is their bike was mishandled in shipping prior to their delivery. Now, on to the review. There is nothing I dislike about this bike. I have owned at least 1/2 dozen stationary bikes and am an avid outdoor biker as well, in spite of my advanced age. I am also an extremely cautious purchaser and did a lot of research on this manufacturer and this specific bike. I found nothing but good reviews on both. Construction: This is an extremely well-constructed bike and without a doubt, the most solid bike I've owned. One of the reason's I purchased this bike was it's slim profile and rider weight capacity. It doesn't disappoint in either area. Because both the seat and handlebars are height adjustable you will get a very slight movement in both. This is not uncommon and in no way detrimental to use and function. The pedals are aluminum and grip well. I removed the foot cages and I don't use them. The seat post is solid and I find the seat reasonably comfortable. I often hate indoor bike seats as they are often too big (and I'm a rather large person). This seat is well padded, comfortable and allows you to pedal without discomfort. The wheels on the front support bar make it very easy to move the bike. This bike is unbelievably quiet. Assembly: Very easy and quick. Took less than 15 minutes to assemble. Assembly tools are included and the few nuts, bolts and screws that are needed are well packaged and identified. The instructions lack any information/directions on the cable coming from the flywheel and going to the monitor. It's somewhat awkward as it stretches on the outside of the bike up to the monitor. We found a simple fix by removing a few screws from the flywheel cover and running the cord through a small space at the top of the cover (see pictures) and reattaching the screws. This keeps the cord away from the flywheel, reduces cord stretch and looks neater. Tension Knob and Display Monitor: I have not encountered any problems with applying and or releasing tension to the flywheel. It functions as it should and is also used as the brake for the flywheel. The display monitor is by no means a high-quality monitor full of bells and whistles. It does, however, provide the information I am most interested in which is speed, miles and basic calories and pulse. I don't need a high degree of accuracy with these so this monitor works for me. Bottom Line: I love this bike and feel that it was a solid investment that gave me a good "bang for my buck." I have owned more expensive bikes and, for my needs, this is my best investment yet. I have only owned it for a few weeks and should anything change, I will update my review. However, based on my use thus far, I don't anticipate any problems with this bike and hope you will consider it in your search.

If you are expecting bells and whistles, high-tech piece of equipment that you will be paying for next few months, only to realize you have barely used it, then this bike is not for you :PAll jokes aside, this is a nice exercise bike that gets the job done and it will not break the bank.It comes almost fully assembled, you need to assemble pedals and few other things, but it is not complicated if you follow instructions. It is sturdy and quiet. The seat is not most comfortable, but it is not a deal breaker. I did not like the caged pedals, so I just removed the "cage" and now my duck feet are free and happy :)The tension knob works great, you can easily adjust it and make your work out a piece of cake or crying for your mother. And that is it, for the price bike is excellent, no regrets here 😉
Impressive. I needed a bike so that I could ride indoors for the Winter months. I didn't have a big budget and my husband found this spin bike on Amazon. I had a couple of sleepless nights before it arrived wondering how hard the assembly would be. For the record, I'm 72 years old and didn't feel like spending three days putting this bike together even though I am a DIY oriented person. I shouldn't have worried, it was a snap to assemble. The bike was so well packaged and the parts were so organized inside. The flywheel and belt were already assembled, thankfully. It was suggested to watch the YouTube video before assembling and that was a great idea. I probably had it all together in 30 minutes. What I'm most impressed with is the sturdiness and performance. This is not a lightweight piece of equipment. I've used spin bikes at the gym and this unit performs equally as well. A turn of the knob and you can smoothly change the resistance for a harder or easier workout. The LED screen keeps track of the basics of time, distance, etc. I love the tablet holder as I can stream TV while spinning. As for longevity, that remains to be seen but since I'm the only person using the bike it should last for good long time. This product is a great bargain for anyone looking to boost their fitness for not a lot of money. It's a perfect addition to my home gym.Review Update: Fast forward and it has been 3 1/2 months since I bought this bike. It is a gem. I have lost 25 pounds and feel great. I am closing in on 1000 miles and have increased the resistance considerably. I plan on keeping this up until I can take my road bike out in the Spring. The bike is just as sturdy as the day I put it together and it is so quiet I can watch TV while spinning. What a great way to exercise at home in Central New York where the Winter can be long and unforgiving. I'm so glad that I purchased this.
Really great exercise bike at a great price. The media could not be loaded. I have been looking for an exercise bike but didn't want to spend a lot of money. I'm also not big into subscription services like Peloton, so I just wanted a standard bike that worked well and didn't have all the extras to make it cost $500 or more. I found this bike and thought it might fit the bill and I should give it a try.First off, everything was packaged really well and protected, so I wouldn't worry about anything getting damaged during shipping. All the parts were organized and secured in the packing.Once I had everything unboxed, I started assembling the bike. The directions were clear and it only took me 15-20 min to complete. All the parts fit tightly and tools were included to help put the bike together. There was even a small thing of thread adhesive to use when screwing the pedals on to ensure they stay tight over use.The digital monitor that comes with the bike is pretty simple. It tracks time, distance (per ride and an overall odometer), speed, and calories. You can have it scan through each or set it to stay on one. You can also set targets (time, distance, or calorie) and it will count down during your workout. There is not a heart rate monitor, bluetooth, or anything fancy. All the adjustments work the same as any other exercise bike (seat height, seat forward/back, handlebar height, wheel tension), and have a good range to allow the correct settings for a range of heights/preferences. The wheel tension is a felt pad, so it is quiet while riding, and you can adjust it from a very easy ride with no tension, to a high effort workout. I also noticed that there is adjustments available to balance the wheel if needed. Everything was well balanced out of the box for me, but I was glad to see the option in case I need to tweak it over time.I've had the bike for a little over a week and have already put about 100 miles on it according to the odometer. It is more stable and sturdy than I expected for a cheap bike, but is still plenty light and easy to move around (there are wheels on the front that make this super easy). The thing I changed was the toe cages on the pedals. The cages that came with the bike were a bit too narrow for my shoes, but I do have fairly big feet, so I don't think it would be a problem for most people.Overall, I'm really pleased with this exercise bike so far, and am confident it will hold up over time.
A Game-Changing Fitness Solution for Busy Moms. As a busy mom, finding time for the gym can be challenging. That's why I purchased an indoor cycling bike, and it has been a total game-changer! The assembly instructions were simple, and the bike is quiet, allowing me to work out without waking up my sleeping babies. Although the pedals are a bit hard, using well-supported shoes or cycling shoes solves the issue. The basic display provides essential information, and the compact size fits perfectly in a small corner of my living area. Overall, this indoor cycling bike has become my go-to fitness solution, providing convenience and helping me stay active and healthy at home. Highly recommended for busy moms!

Quiet and Smooth. I do like this piece of equipment. It was fairly easy to put together. It's very quiet and smooth. The display screen is a nice size and simple to read. The seat is pretty comfortable. I also like that resistance exercises can be done while riding also. On the back are resistance bands to work legs also. All around it is a great exercise machine. The price is great for what you get.I would recommend this product.
BARWING, bar none! You get more than for what you pay for. Excellent bang for the buck. Have been using it for at least 2+ weeks now. The base is sturdy and stable. The seat is somewhat wobbly but it's because of its tilt adjustment nature -- any hinges that allows angle adjustment to the seat will tend to wobble. The wobble isn't that bad, just noticeable. I will point out below the relevance of this seat tilt feature, and why the "wobble" is a fair enough trade off for the "seat tilt" feature. The seat is usable enough for a 20-30 minute duration. Then the cushion becomes noticeably uncomfortable. But that's ok, I only need it for 20-30 mins anyway. More than 30 mins of cycling leads to muscle break down, so I keep it below 30. If you plan to use it beyond 30 mins regularly, you might want to invest on a seat cushion add-on.Equipment footprint is greatly understated especially when your trying to fit it in a small home gym set up.Assembly was pretty straight forward. Did it myself in about 2 hours.Resistance bands are a welcome bonus. The cycling motion is smooth, unstrained. Occasionally the left pedal will have a "sticky" point where it clunks, but sometimes it doesn't. I still have to figure out where it's coming from, although it does not take away from the function of the machine. It's just something I'm suspecting to be a potential problem in the future.I was looking through cardio/warm-up equipment for my home gym, and was deciding among 3 form factors: an elliptical, a stepper or stationary cycle. Most steppers for home set up use pressure valves. Smallest footprint between the 3 form factors. Unfortunately, most steppers have a very shallow step depth. The experience is not even close to stairmaster-type machines you find in the gyms. Most of these home units are the "in-front-of-the-tv" kind, not a set-up that's befitting an actual home gym, at least in my taste. Then there are the ellipticals. Ellipticals will take up the biggest amount of space in a small home gym setup between the 3, no matter how small of an elliptical it is. The bigger the elliptical, the more stable and reliable it is. If I had to choose an elliptical, it should have 3 things: a seat, a tablet/phone holder, and a smooth glide. The best way to find the right elliptical is to test it in store, then find the model online. Unfortunately with this COVID fiasco, store hopping to compare equipment isn't as accessible, so buying blindly online is obviously a higher risk. A few ellipticals online had what I was looking for, sans being able to test. Advantages of an elliptical is simultaneous upper and lower body motion while in an upright position, not just working extremities but also postural muscles. Then there's the stationary cycles: foldable bikes, spinning bikes, recumbent bikes, under-the-desk-cycles. A spinning bike was overkill for my needs, especially the price for well-rated spinning bikes. Recumbent bikes took the most space, just like an elliptical. Under-the-desk cycles, you spend more for what you're getting. Then there's the foldable bikes. Had to find the one that would fit my budget of under $200, and meet the basics of what I'm looking for: a tablet/phone holder, a small footprint, and a smooth ride. The footprint on this bike is great. Even when you open it up to "recumbent mode" the footprint is still small, compared to an actual dedicated recumbent bike, but you still get the recumbent seating profile. And the best part with this Barwing bike is that the seat has a TILT feature that allows you to levelize the seat so it can be horizontal (instead of tilted forward up) while in a recumbent position. MOST of these folding bikes DO NOT have this feature. And it makes all the difference in comfort. Imagine cycling for 20-30 minutes with the front end of the seat tilted and poking up -- sliding and pushing your tailbone back, curling forward the normal curve of your low back, and poking your inner thighs with that seat front protrusion. The backrest for this seat is also a great feature. You won't appreciate the value of a backrest on a stationary bike until you have one. For any bike that claims to be able to go into a recumbent position, a backrest is a MUST HAVE.Then there's the added resistance bands. These bands can now supplement upper body movements while cycling. Pretty much comparable to the purpose of upper body movements you get from an elliptical, but with more degrees of freedom: reach overhead, swing your arms back, to the side, do bicep curls, triceps kickbacks, shoulder flyes, etc.Obviously, you don't get postural muscle involvement in a stationary bike vs an elliptical, but this wasn't a primary consideration because it was just going to be a warm-up/cool-down and/or shredding phase cardio equipment. With this bike, I can use it in recumbent, semi-recumbent or upright, all in a small footprint.About the cycling resistance, I don't know yet. I should have tested the touted "magnetic resistance" but I have only used it on the zero setting for now, only because I use it as a warm up machine before I get into powerlifting/weight lifting. So far, a good product. A few improvements could have been made, but for about $179+ it's definitely a good buy for what you get.Highly recommended.
Seat is hard of the rear, foot straps are awkard, otherwise good/worth the money. I guess I have big hands and big feet. It was hard for me to get my fingers in to tighten some of the nuts. Comparatively, it was easy to assemble. When you first look at the instructions, they seem more complicated than the actual steps. They put in thoughtful engineering and associated most of the correct bolts with the areas where they go. So, you didn't have to guess what kind of bolt should go where. The foot straps are awkward. I wear boots normally, and the boots won't fit in the foot straps. Wearing my socks, I find it to be a little hard on the arches. What I like it that as an older man with a football player build, it can support me easily and with stability. It seems to be easier on the arthritic knees, while giving the physical exercise. The plastic cover on the fly wheel was not attached correctly and represents a hazard. If kids visit, I will have to use masking tape to affix the plastic shield so that a kid doesn't accidentlly lop off their finger playing around.
BUY THIS BIKE!!! Don’t even look at another one. First I want to say the customer service is UNMATCHED! The fastest response time I’ve ever experienced and the nicest people! I would literally just buy this bike for the amazing customer service. Now on to my actual review. It took me less than an hour to put together it was all very easy to understand. I love that it already came with batteries because I don’t think I’ve bought a pack of batteries in years. Adjusting the height and seat positions are so easy and quick. This thing is SILENT! Me and my husband both work from home so I was needing something quiet and this bike is PERFECT! After putting it together I took a 30 minute ride and honestly I don’t find the seat uncomfortable. I probably will add extra support padding just because I sit 8 hours a day for my job so my rear end is always sore haha but it didn’t cause any pain for me without an extra cushion. The back support is amazing too! I have a bad lower back, sciatic nerve issues, arthritis, hip problems and it’s a great design. The handles by the seat are great as well. I didn’t use them much while riding but I love them because it gives me support to adjust myself in the seat when needed. I’m 5’10” and when I put it together I raised the seat as high as it could go just knowing I’d need to because I’m so tall but I got on and oh my…I couldn’t even reach the pedals!! If you are tall this is perfect for you. I actually had to drop the seat about 3 or 4 holes to reach the pedals. Love this feature finally someone making things accessible for tall people! Love it!! I didn’t even realize when I bought it that it had a phone holder on the panel. So glad it has that because I can watch some shows while exercising. I may not use the pulse reader much because I already have an Apple Watch but it’s a great added feature for the price!! The added features for arm and leg workouts were a huge reason I purchased this bike in the first place and let me tell you they work!! I already feel sore haha. I’m honestly surprised this bike isn’t $300+ dollars. It’s great for small spaces and it has wheels so moving it around is very easy. It’s heavy but it’s not so heavy you can’t move it. It’s the perfect weight so that it can hold you but still be moved around with ease. I will probably be buying another one to gift to a friend or family member for the holidays. I really would recommend this to anyone! Highly recommend you purchase this bike you absolutely won’t regret it!
Easy to assemble with video. Very comfortable, no noise. Strong and stable. Very happy with it.

My mother bought this. She's 93 years old and bikes on this twice a day for 30 minutes along with her treadmill. Wish i was this capable. Lol
I took my time choosing the right stationnary bike for my needs before finally getting this one. My only concern with this model was the comfort of the seat as some reviews stated it wasn’t comfortable enough or after long sessions. I must say, it is very confortable, even after a 30 minutes session and I’m on the heavy side (240 pounds). So far I use it 30 minutes every day since I received it. Took less than an hour to assemble and it is very quiet. I highly recommend this bike.
